Dr. Stephanie Strohmenger is a licensed Physical Therapist who was recentlybrought on to the Marron Wellness Center Team. Stephanie received herundergraduate and Doctorate degrees from University of the Sciences inPhiladelphia, graduating in 2009 with Cum Laude Honors and passing the NewJersey Physical Therapy Board Examination soon after graduation.In 2009, Stephanie began working at JFK Medical Center in the InpatientRehabilitation department.
This is where her neurologic and orthopedicpassion began, working with patients that were post stroke, heartsurgeries, amputations, Parkinson’s Disease, post- surgical care,neuropathy, and COPD. Stephanie learned how to facilitate mobility usingmanual skills, therapeutic exercises and activities, and neuro re-education. In 2011, she transferred to the Outpatient JFK Medical Centerbranch, working with patients with orthopedic and neurologicconditions/injuries, using aquatic therapy to enhance the progress towardstheir goals. Stephanie received her certification in LSVT BIG PROGRAM,helping those diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. This program is based onthe principle that the brain can learn and change (neuroplasticity) usingan exercise treatment program.
Stephanie gave lectures to the neighborhoodsurrounding JFK Medical Center for patient awareness regarding LSVT. Itwas in this department that Stephanie also became involved in balance andvestibular disorders, including BPPV, and vestibular hypofunction. In 2013,Stephanie returned back to Inpatient Rehabilitation with her new skills andknowledge about balance, posture, orthopedic conditions, and Parkinson’sDisease.
In 2015, Stephanie had a beautiful son named Mark, and transferred closerto her home in Tinton Falls, to a new setting, Sub-Acute Rehabilitation.It was after working 3 years in sub-acute that Stephanie realized that shemissed outpatient rehab and wanted to come back to a setting that she coulduse more of her manual and neuro re- education skills.
When Stephanie is not working, she enjoys spending time outside with herfamily and friends, going to a concert, reading a book, or spending time onthe beach. She is very involved in JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes ResearchFoundation) and fundraises each year for the JDRF One Walk at Avon Beach. Marron Wellness Center has welcomed Stephanie with open arms into this warmand friendly family and she’s excited to work with the team to helppatients feel better and return to their prior level of functional mobility.
